Risograph cover art in graphite, red and gold: the facade of a four-storey rented apartment house, one window lit in gold; a thin red line runs down from it to a small stack of blank sheets.

Most chapters close with a short section on how Catala — and, in Chapter 7, GETTSIM — meets the same need. Those sections describe the other tools as their own documentation presents them. They were checked against Catala 1.3.0 (released 1 October 2026) and the Catala book on 11 October 2026; the date is printed here once instead of under every section.

Tools change. If something has changed, tell us at hi@arxo.io. Corrections are published with the next edition and listed under Corrections.

Chapter What the chapter compares
1 dates and pinned publications
3 exact arithmetic of the formula
4 rounding and intermediate values
5 tests and expected statuses
6 a question left to the authority
7 exceptions and inputs decided elsewhere
8 missing facts and contradictory records
9 traces, fingerprints and replay
Final exercise statute as code — the idea this book builds on
